About COSA
Preparing Today for all our Tomorrows
The Oceti Sakowin Education Commission (OSEC) was organized in 2012 to addresses the need for a common accreditation protocol. OSEC was formed from the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Association.
The Commission for Oceti Sakowin Accreditation (COSA) was established for the accreditation of schools located within tribal boundaries. We provide a consistent, reliable, and responsible accreditation service. COSA models other regional, national and international accreditation agencies and will assist qualified schools who choose to seek dual accreditation.
Cost of Accreditation
COSA is a tribal non-profit corporation. Its accreditation services are funded through dues and fees. Annual dues are collected from candidate and accredited schools and centers. Additional fees may be charged for accreditation or consultancy visits.
