Preparing our students by preparing our schools

Our current potential schools are the BIE operated, tribal, public and private schools that provide education services to tribal learners primarily within the states of South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.

The U. S. Census indicates that there are approximately 192,000 American Indian/Alaska Natives in the three states and approximately 40% are under the age of 18. We believe those learners deserve a culturally responsive based education.

Growing opportunity for all

We plan to provide our services to all BIE operated, tribal, public and private schools located on or near the 530+ federally and state recognized tribal lands plus Indigenous nations in other countries of the world.

The Oceti Sakowin Education Commission (OSEC) was organized in 2012.
